Drysdale – City of Greater Geelong
Farm My School is a not-for-profit working to transform unused land within schools into regenerative market gardens supplying food to the local community. In its second year, the program at Bellarine Secondary College in Drysdale, Victoria has turned a disused soccer field into a community-built 1.5-acre market garden, promoting healthy eating, ecological stewardship, and connected communities.
Torquay – Surf Coast Shire
Ocean Mind Ltd offers innovative programs that harness the healing potential of the ocean to empower young people facing mental health challenges, social isolation, and disabilities. The transformative summer programs provide therapeutic surfing, mentorship, and a supportive environment for participants to overcome obstacles and build resilience.
Violet Town – Strathbogie Shire
The Violet Town Community Market is a highly anticipated monthly event that takes place on the second Saturday of every month. This vibrant market has gained widespread recognition for its unique atmosphere and community engagement. During each market, two community groups actively participate in tin rattling, raising funds for their respective causes.
Airport West – City of Moonee Valley
The Sustainable Collective Project is a place-based collaborative hub promoting, securing, rejuvenating, and distributing pre-loved products for newborns to 16 years, and their families. The program targets communities experiencing disadvantage due to social issues including homelessness, escaping family violence, seeking refuge, unemployment, disability and high needs.
Dandenong – City of Greater Dandenong
Soap Aid is a charity that has taken on the crucial mission of reducing waste soap sent to landfills. Their project known as the “Hotel to Hands” program embodies a true circular economy initiative. Soap Aid has established partnerships with various accommodation providers across Victoria and New Zealand.
Ravenhall – Located in various council areas
WERN is a non-profit organisation managed and staffed by volunteers and involves interested Rotary Clubs in the designated area of operations. WERN supplies good quality second-hand furniture, electrical and white goods to people in crisis without charge.
